If you attend any dog-related event in the UK and Ireland, it is more than likely that any printed material has been produced by Higham Press.  And helping the company to process this material is a new MBO T535/44 Efficiency buckle folding machine + A56 mobile stream delivery supplied by UK & Ireland agent, Friedheim International.

Says company secretary Susan Smith: “We’ve had our existing folding machine – a MBO 64 KTL Combination – since 1972, and it has been a real ‘workhorse’, coping easily with the heavy throughput we have on a daily basis.   Therefore, when it came to choosing a new folder, the decision became relatively straightforward – same again!  And the new MBO is proving just as fine and reliable a folder as the other MBO.”

Established in 1945, Higham, Derbyshire, family-run business Higham Press provides a complete service for secretaries of any size of dog-related shows, from the smallest open shows to major all-breed championships shows.  This includes schedules, catalogues, show accounting, mailing of exhibitor passes, computerised results service, etc.

Besides dog-related activities, Higham Press also undertakes other commercial work, including reports, year books, magazines, brochures, NCR sets, calendars, letterheads and business cards for customers large or small.

According to Susan Smith, the new MBO folder has slightly changed the company’s method of operating, as she explains: “On the MBO 64 KTL we used to handle 32-page sections, but with the new MBO 535/44 Efficiency we are now handling 16-page sections instead.  However, this has not presented any problems as a lot of our customers now require their jobs to be digitally printed, and this simply means that the sections are produced on SRA1 sheets, cut in half.”
