In addition to celebrating 120 years of supplying high quality products  to the printing and graphic arts industries, KAMA used the recent Open House (in association with HP Indigo) to unveil its latest innovation – the FlexFold 52 folder-gluer with automated set-up.

This new machine has been designed for short and medium runs, as well as dealing with frequent and very fast job changes.  It can also be set up quickly for different products and formats.  A distinctive feature is the newly developed ‘APA System’ (automated plough length adjustment), which makes it possible to adjust the folding belts automatically – not only in transverse, but also in longitudinal direction.  As a result, changeovers, which often take hours on conventional equipment, can now be performed in minutes.  (KAMA has global patents pending for this automated set-up.)

The KAMA FlexFold 52 folder-gluer is capable of handling straight-line boxes, crash-lock boxes and telescope boxes, as well as operating at a speed of 200 metres per minute.  It is also capable of processing cardboard from 180-600 gm², and micro-flute from 0.4 mm to 0.9 mm.
Network integration is via JDF/JMF, and quality of output is guaranteed by the inclusion of an inspection and reject unit on the gluing line.
